Biman cancels 25 flights from Dhaka amid Middle East tensions
A total of 25 flights from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka were canceled today (March 4) due to escalating tensions in the Middle East following US–Israel strikes in Iran.
Over the past five days, airlines operating from Dhaka have canceled a total of 173 flights.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), airspace restrictions prompted the following cancellations: 23 flights on February 28, 40 on March 1, 46 on March 2, and 39 on March 3.
Today’s cancellations include four Qatar Airways flights, five Emirates flights, two Kuwait Airways flights, two Jazeera Airways flights, eight Air Arabia flights, and four US-Bangla Airlines flights.
Meanwhile, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has announced cancellations of flights to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah in the UAE; Dammam in Saudi Arabia; Doha in Qatar; and Kuwait through March 5.
