The Biman Bangladesh Airlines has cancelled all its flights to Middle Eastern destinations until March 8 due to escalating conflicts involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.

The airline informed travel agencies of the decision on Friday afternoon (March 7), stating, "Flights on these routes had already been suspended from March 3 to March 5, and the suspension has now been extended through March 8."

Affected routes include Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates; Dammam in Saudi Arabia; Doha in Qatar; and Kuwait.

Passengers will be informed of revised schedules if the situation improves, the airline said.

According to airline sources, several countries—including Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, and Jordan—temporarily closed their airspace from February 28 amid security concerns related to the ongoing conflict, disrupting operations at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

Industry data show that, due to the ongoing crisis, a total of 245 flights operated by various airlines from Dhaka had been cancelled by Friday.

Biman authorities said the uncertainty is likely to persist until tensions ease and regional airspace restrictions are lifted. Passengers have been advised to contact the airline’s call center or relevant offices for the latest updates.
