BNP announces nationwide programme to mark Khaleda Zia’s birthday
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced a nationwide programme of prayer and milad mahfils to mark the 82nd birthday of its former chairperson and former prime minister Khaleda Zia.
The party announced the programme in a press release signed by Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Friday morning (August 14).
According to the release, BNP and its affiliated organisations will hold prayer gatherings and milad mahfils at party offices and mosques across the country on Saturday, August 15. Party leaders, activists and supporters are expected to attend the programmes.
As part of the central programme, a milad and prayer gathering will be held at 11am on Saturday at the BNP central office in Naya Paltan, Dhaka. Senior party leaders are expected to attend.
Similar programmes will be organised at district, metropolitan and upazila levels, as well as in other areas across the country. The BNP has urged leaders and activists of all levels, along with supporters of its affiliated and associate organisations, to participate in the gatherings.
