BNP holds emergency meeting in Gulshan chaired by Tarique Rahman
An emergency meeting of the BNP standing committee began at the party chairperson’s political office in Gulshan following the death of party chairperson and former prime minister Khaleda Zia.
The meeting started at 12:38 pm on Tuesday, chaired by BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman.
Earlier, at around 12:30 pm, Tarique Rahman’s vehicle entered the party chairperson’s political office from his Gulshan residence. Standing committee members had arrived at the venue ahead of his arrival.
The meeting is expected to discuss the party’s detailed programmes in connection with Khaleda Zia’s death.
Those present include BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee members Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan and Nazrul Islam Khan.
Standing committee members Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Salahuddin Ahmed, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku and Hafizuddin Ahmed were on their way to attend the meeting.
