BNP issues show-cause notice to MP Bacchu over breach of party discipline

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has issued a show-cause notice to Fakhruddin Ahmed Bacchu, Member of Parliament for the Mymensingh-11 (Bhaluka) constituency, on charges of violating party discipline.

The central office of the party confirmed the matter on Saturday (July 18) .

According to party sources, the notice follows recent media reports that published allegations of various irregularities against Fakhruddin Ahmed Bacchu, including the alleged control of local jute trading businesses. Considering the breach of party discipline in light of these allegations, the notice was sent, seeking an explanation from him .

Sources at the BNP said the show-cause notice asks for a clarification regarding the allegations . The party will decide on its next course of action after receiving his response.

Fakhruddin Ahmed Bacchu was elected as a Member of Parliament from the Mymensingh-11 (Bhaluka) constituency on a BNP nomination in the 13th parliamentary elections .
