BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan hospitalised
Nazrul Islam Khan, a member of the BNP Standing Committee and adviser to the Prime Minister, has been admitted to a hospital in Dhaka after falling ill.
The development was confirmed on Wednesday (July 1) by BNP Media Cell member Shairul Kabir Khan.
According to him, Nazrul Islam Khan returned to Bangladesh from Singapore on June 25 and was admitted to Evercare Hospital in the capital on June 30. He is currently receiving treatment under close medical supervision.
BNP lawmaker Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas visited the veteran leader at the hospital at this afternoon. Shairul Kabir Khan was also present during the visit.
Following consultations with the attending physicians, Shimul Biswas said doctors have advised party leaders, supporters and well-wishers to refrain from visiting the hospital for the time being to ensure the patient's recovery and avoid unnecessary crowds.
Doctors are continuing to monitor Nazrul Islam Khan's condition, while party leaders have requested prayers for his speedy recovery.
