BNP to announce first phase of candidate list today

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has finalised its single candidates for the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election. On November 3, the party’s Standing Committee began a meeting at noon to review and discuss the final list.

According to Shairul Kabir Khan, member of the BNP’s Media Cell, the meeting is being chaired by the party’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman at the Chairperson’s Office in Gulshan.

He said that the first phase of the candidate list is expected to be announced later today, following the meeting. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir may hold a press conference at the Gulshan office around 3:30 pm to make the announcement.

At a meeting on November 2, Tarique Rahman stated, “With the aim of participating in the long-awaited election, the BNP is completing all necessary preparations alongside the pro-democracy people of the country. As part of this, the nomination process for BNP and BNP-supported candidates in all 300 parliamentary constituencies is nearing its final stage.”
