BNP to begin interviews for reserved women’s seats tomorrow
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will begin interviews of candidates aspiring for reserved women’s seats in parliament from Friday (April 17), senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced.
He made the disclosure at an emergency press briefing held at the party’s central office in Nayapaltan on Thursday afternoon (April 16).
Rizvi said many aspirants have already submitted nomination forms for the reserved women’s seats in the upcoming national parliament. In response, the party’s nomination board will begin interviews at 3:00pm on Friday, which will continue until 3:00pm on Saturday (April 18).
He said the nomination board meeting will be chaired by party chairperson Tarique Rahman, with members of the BNP standing committee also present.
According to Rizvi, candidates from the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal and Faridpur divisions will be interviewed on the first day. On Saturday, aspirants from Chattogram, Sylhet, Cumilla, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions will appear before the panel.
