The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will conduct a two-day training workshop for its parliamentary members, particularly first-time MPs, ahead of the 13th National Parliament’s inaugural session.

Experienced former civil servants, academicians, and ex-lawmakers will guide MPs on their roles, parliamentary practices for ministers, and strategies to enhance efficiency in ministry operations.

The workshop is scheduled for March 6–7 at the BNP chairman’s office in Gulshan, Dhaka. Party chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will inaugurate the programme.

President Md. Sahabuddin has called the first session of the 13th National Parliament for March 12.

The training is designed to prepare newly elected representatives and ministers for effective participation in the upcoming parliamentary proceedings, bill and budget processes, and the functioning of standing committees.

Party sources said MPs will receive guidance on implementing election pledges, overseeing local development, enforcing policies, and monitoring ministries. Sessions will also cover anti-corruption measures, promoting good governance, and ensuring transparency in government operations.

On the first day, March 6, the workshop will feature two sessions: a morning session from 10:30am to 12:30pm for ministers, state ministers, and advisors, and an afternoon session from 2:30pm to 4:30pm for MPs from Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Faridpur divisions. On March 7, the morning session will include MPs from Dhaka district, Mymensingh, and remaining MPs of Dhaka and Faridpur divisions, while the afternoon session will cover MPs from Sylhet, Cumilla, and Chattogram regions.
