BNP's Aminul gets call to join new cabinet

Aminul Haque, the sports secretary of the party's central executive committee and convener of Dhaka North BNP, former captain of the national football team, has been called to take oath in the BNP government's cabinet under the technocrat quota. A close source confirmed this information to the media.

The oath-taking of the cabinet will be held on Tuesday (February 17) afternoon.

Aminul contested the 13th National Parliament elections from Dhaka-16 constituency with the symbol of paddy sheaf.

However, he lost to the Jamaat-e-Islami-nominated candidate for the scales, Colonel (Retd.) Md. Abdul Baten. Even after losing the elections, rumors started circulating about the former star footballer.

Aminul was in discussions from the beginning to become the sports minister under the technocrat quota. Finally, those rumors came true. The responsibility of the sports ministry is going to the former captain of the national football team.
