The bodies of four Bangladeshi brothers who were found dead under mysterious circumstances inside a vehicle in Oman have been brought back to Bangladesh.

The bodies arrived at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 8:15pm on Tuesday (May 19) aboard a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight.

The four brothers were recovered earlier from a car in the Muladda area of Oman’s South Al Batinah region, triggering grief and concern among relatives and the expatriate community.

At the airport, lawmaker Humam Qader Chowdhury formally handed over the bodies to the bereaved families. He expressed condolences over the tragic incident and praised the efforts of the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment and the Bangladesh Embassy for ensuring the swift repatriation of the bodies.

The ministry also provided Tk 35,000 in financial assistance to each family to support transportation and burial expenses.

Family members said the funeral prayers will be held on Wednesday morning (May 20), after which the four brothers will be laid to rest at their family graveyard.
