Both students, teachers will face action for cheating in SSC exams: Education Minister
Education and Primary Education Minister A N M Ehsanul Haque Milan has warned of strict action against both students and officials involved if any cheating or irregularities are detected during the upcoming SSC examinations.
He said the government is committed to ensuring a completely cheating-free and question leak-free exam, adopting a zero-tolerance policy nationwide. Any proven misconduct will lead to disciplinary action against those responsible.
The minister also announced that no “grace marks” will be awarded this year, with students receiving scores strictly based on their answers to ensure fair evaluation.
To maintain transparency, CCTV cameras will be installed at high-risk exam centres with live monitoring, and there are plans to gradually make surveillance mandatory at all centres. Surprise inspections, including aerial monitoring teams if necessary, may also be conducted.
According to the ministry, special attention will be given to remote, coastal, and hilly area's centres. Lists of high-risk venues have already been sought from all education boards, with real-time monitoring from a central control room to detect any irregularities.
Security has also been tightened at every stage—from question paper printing to distribution—with digital tracking introduced to prevent leaks and fraud.
The SSC and equivalent examinations under the new government are scheduled to begin on April 21.
