British High Commission, Democracy International meet Home Minister

A joint delegation of the British High Commission and Democracy International today held a courtesy meeting with Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed and discussed ways to strengthen the parliamentary democratic system.

The meeting, held at the Home Minister’s office at the Bangladesh Secretariat, also discussed the formation and effectiveness of parliamentary standing committees and the proposed Cyber Security (Amendment) Act 2026.

The four-member delegation was led by Louise Beynon, Governance Adviser at the British High Commission.

British High Commission Political Counsellor Ryan Duncanson, Democracy International Bangladesh Chief of Party Aminul Ehsan and Senior Programme Director Lipika Biswas were also present.

Additional Secretary (Political and Immigration) Dr Ziauddin Ahmed and relevant officials of the Home Ministry attended the meeting.
