BSMMU online appointment service to be launched

To alleviate patient suffering and ensure better healthcare services, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) launched an online appointment system for its outpatient department.

By logging into the BSMMU website www.bsmmu.ac.bd (www.bsmmu.ac.bd), patients can take online appointments to get medical consultation services as per their needs. In this way, patients will no longer have to come to the outpatient department of BSMMU together in the morning and crowd for tickets.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Shahinul Alam said: "Introducing online appointments in the outpatient department has become essential to improve the quality of patient service, ensure facilities for patients coming to the outpatient department of BSMMU, and accelerate the academic and research activities of the university."

"Online appointments will play a special role in linking academic and research activities with outpatient medical services. If online appointments are introduced, it will be possible to store patient data. If outpatient and inpatient departments can be fully automated, it will be possible to store all medical information, including patient examination information," he added.

Among others, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Development) Professor Dr. Md. Mujibur Rahman Howlader, Director (Planning and Development) Associate Professor Dr. Erfanul Haque Siddiqui, Director (Hospital) Brigadier General Abu Noman Mohammad Mosleh Uddin, Director of IT Cell Professor Dr. AKM Akhtaruzzaman, System Analyst Md. Maruf Hossain and others were present during the launching programme.
