Bus fare to be adjusted based on fuel prices: PM’s Info adviser
Prime Minister’s Information and Broadcasting Adviser Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman has said that bus fares will be set in coordination with changes in fuel prices.
He made the remarks while briefing journalists in the capital on Tuesday (April 21).
Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman said that fares for air-conditioned buses may increase in two to three stages, depending on fuel price adjustments. He also noted that more than 170,000 fuel pass registrations have already been completed.
In the same briefing, he added that the government is planning to observe Pahela Baishakh on a regional basis from next year. For this purpose, discussions are being held with neighbouring countries including India, Bhutan, and Myanmar.
Officials said the move aims to ensure a more structured and coordinated approach to cultural celebrations across the region.
