Cautionary signal no. 3 issued for 4 maritime ports

The Meteorological Department has issued local warning signal number 3 in four seaports of the country due to the increase in the air pressure difference in the North Bay of Bengal and adjacent areas.

In a special warning issued, the seaports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been asked to show this signal on Tuesday (April 28).

Meanwhile, fishing boats and trawlers in the North Bay of Bengal have been instructed to navigate carefully near the coast until further notice.

Meteorologist Md. Shahinul Islam said that this warning has been issued due to the air pressure difference. At the same time, the ongoing rainfall trend in various parts of the country including Dhaka may continue for at least another week.

The regular bulletin of the Meteorological Department said that light to moderate rain or thundershowers with gusty or squally winds are likely to occur in many places of Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and some areas of Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions in the next 24 hours from 9am.

In addition, moderate to heavy or extremely heavy rain may occur in some places of Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions.

During this period, the day temperature across the country may remain almost unchanged, but the night temperature may decrease slightly.

In the last 24 hours, the highest temperature in the country was recorded in Cox's Bazar and Khepupara of Patuakhali, 34 degrees Celsius. On the other hand, the lowest temperature was in Srimangal, 18 degrees Celsius.

During this period, the highest rainfall in the country of 158 millimeters was also recorded in Srimangal. Besides, Sylhet received 127 millimeters of rainfall, Rangamati and Cumilla 37 millimeters, and Netrokona 36 millimeters. The capital Dhaka recorded 8 millimeters of rainfall during this period.
