Charge sheet in Ramisa rape, murder case likely tomorrow
Police are likely to submit the charge sheet on Sunday in the case filed over the rape and murder of eight-year-old Ramisa in the capital's Pallabi area. The DNA test in the case has already been completed.
The investigation officer, Pallabi Police Station Sub-Inspector Ahiduzzaman Bhuiyan Nipun told BSS, "The DNA testing process has been completed, and the charge sheet may be submitted on Sunday."
He said he is preparing the charge sheet, and his superiors are reviewing various reports, including DNA analysis.
The accused was arrested on May 20 and gave a confessional statement before a court under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. Metropolitan Magistrate Aminul Islam Junayed recorded the statement and ordered the accused sent to jail.
Investigators said the accused lured Ramisa into a room and committed the crime. He later attempted to destroy evidence and fled.
In his confession, the accused claimed he had consumed yaba before the incident. No prior enmity between the accused and the victim's family has been found.
The victim's father, Abdul Hannan Molla, filed the case at Pallabi Police Station on May 20. The same day, police produced the accused and his wife before the court and submitted separate petitions for investigation.
