Chhatra Dal shifts rally to Shahbagh at NCP’s request

The Bangladesh Nationalist Students' Party (Chhatra Dal) has announced that their scheduled rally on August 3 will now take place at Shahbagh instead of the central Shahid Minar. The decision was made following a request from the National Citizen Party (NCP), according to Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam. He shared the update during a press conference held at BNP’s central office in Nayapaltan on Wednesday, July 30.

Rakibul Islam urged participants to avoid any clashes or provocations during the rally.

Responding to questions, Chhatra Dal General Secretary Nasir Uddin expressed cautious optimism about the upcoming DUCSU elections, saying that the effectiveness of the election will be clear in time, especially considering concerns over the accountability of Chhatra League and Awami League-backed teachers. Nevertheless, he affirmed that Chhatra Dal views the elections positively.

Meanwhile, the NCP expressed gratitude to both BNP and Chhatra Dal for their cooperation and goodwill.
