Chhayanaut's Baishakhi celebration to begin at 6:15 am

Cultural organisation Chhayanaut has completed its preparations for celebrating the New Year 1433. The Baishakhi celebration at Ramna Botmool in the capital will begin at 6:15 am and conclude at 8:15 pm on Pahela Baishakh.

Artists of Chhayanaut held a rehearsal at Ramna Botmool on Monday afternoon ahead of the event. Cultural activists are busy with last-minute preparations.

Law enforcement agencies have taken special security measures surrounding the event. Multiple layers of security, including dog squads, bomb disposal units, drones and watchtowers, have been put in place for the Baishakhi procession and main programme at the Ramna area.

Deputy Commissioner of DMP's Ramna Zone Md Masud Alam said law enforcement agencies are fully prepared to ensure hassle-free New Year celebrations. He said all programmes must conclude by 6:00 pm, and cyber surveillance and plainclothes police patrols will be in place to prevent rumours.
