Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus has called on people to embrace the holy night of Shab-e-Barat as a unique opportunity to attain Allah’s mercy, offering prayers for the welfare of the country and the nation and dedicating themselves to the service of humanity.
He made the call in a message issued on the occasion of Shab-e-Barat.
The holy Shab-e-Barat will be observed on Tuesday night, February 3. Muslims observe the night between the 14th and 15th of the month of Shaban in the Hijri calendar as Shab-e-Barat.
The message said Shab-e-Barat is a rare opportunity in life to seek mercy, forgiveness and spiritual purification. According to Hadith, Allah grants special forgiveness to His servants on this night, which is why it is regarded as a blessed and fortunate night.
Dr Yunus said that through worship, prayers, charity and almsgiving on this sacred night, believers can attain closeness to Allah and seek His forgiveness. Through self-reflection and repentance, and by striving to purify themselves from sins, people can receive Allah’s boundless grace, blessings and forgiveness.
He urged everyone to take Shab-e-Barat as an extraordinary opportunity to seek Allah’s mercy, pray for the welfare of the country and the nation, and dedicate themselves to the service of humanity. He also called for rejecting injustice, oppression, wrongdoing and superstition, and illuminating personal, social and national life with the peaceful and noble values of Islam.
