Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan decides to resign
Supreme Court Appellate Division Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan has decided to resign.
Hundreds of protestors demonstrated on the High Court premises in the capital on Saturday (August 10) demanding his resignation.
Later, it was reported that the Chief Justice had taken a policy decision to resign.
Earlier, around 12:30pm, Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement and adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, said in a Facebook post that a sit-in program is underway to demand the resignation of seven judges of the Appellate Division, including the chief justice.
