Chinese Ambassador pays courtesy call on PM
The Chinese Ambassador to Dhaka, Yao Wen, has paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
The meeting took place at the Prime Minister's Office in the National Parliament Building on Thursday.
The Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary, Shahadat Hossain Shadhin, confirmed the matter.
He stated that at the beginning of the meeting, the Chinese Ambassador congratulated Bangladesh on the election of Dr. Khalilur Rahman as the President of the 2026-2027 session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Shahadat Hossain Shadhin added that during the meeting, discussions were held on further strengthening bilateral relations between China and Bangladesh. Particular emphasis was placed on enhancing business, trade, investment, technical education, and people-to-people relations between the two countries.
Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman and the Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir were present at the meeting.
