Chinese Ambassador to Dhaka Yao Wen paid a courtesy call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam. The meeting was held at the State Minister's office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday (February 22). During the meeting, they held constructive discussions on various issues of Bangladesh-China bilateral relations, mutual cooperation and trade, investment and development partnership. They also reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen the historical friendship and strategic cooperation between the two countries. After the meeting with the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Chinese Ambassador also paid a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman.

পররাষ্ট্র প্রতিমন্ত্রী শামা ওবায়েদ ইসলাম-এর সঙ্গে সৌজন্য সাক্ষাৎ করেছেন ঢাকায় নিযুক্ত চীনের রাষ্ট্রদূত ইয়াও ওয়েন। রোববার (২২ ফেব্রুয়ারি) পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়-এ প্রতিমন্ত্রীর দপ্তরে এ সাক্ষাৎ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। সাক্ষাৎকালে তারা বাংলাদেশ-চীন দ্বিপাক্ষিক সম্পর্ক, পারস্পরিক সহযোগিতা এবং বাণিজ্য, বিনিয়োগ ও উন্নয়ন অংশীদারিত্বের বিভিন্ন বিষয় নিয়ে গঠনমূলক আলোচনা করেন। দুই দেশের ঐতিহাসিক বন্ধুত্ব ও কৌশলগত সহযোগিতা আরও জোরদার করার প্রত্যয়ও পুনর্ব্যক্ত করেন তারা। পররাষ্ট্র প্রতিমন্ত্রীর সঙ্গে বৈঠক শেষে চীনের রাষ্ট্রদূত পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী ড. খলিলুর রহমান-এর সঙ্গেও সৌজন্য সাক্ষাৎ করেন।
