Chinese ambassador visits Amar Ekushey Book Fair
Yao Wen, the Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh, visited the 'China Book House' participating in the Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2024 at 3.00pm on Friday (February 23).
The premises of the 'China Book House' located in the Bangla Academy area became bustling with Chinese and Bangladeshi citizens at that time.
Ambassador Yao Wen handed over two books of Chinese fairy tales written in English to two Bangladeshi children.
Yao Wen said, "Through China Book House, Bangladeshi readers will get to know about China's values and culture. It is important for the relationship between Bangladesh and China. A cultural group from China will visit Bangladesh soon. They will highlight the various cultures of China."
Former Ambassador of Bangladesh to China Mahbubuzzaman was present at that time. He said, "We will be able to overcome the shock of Covid after such initiatives. Both China and Bangladesh are interested in each other's culture."
Ambassador Yao Wen collected the comics of the book "Amar Dekha Nayachin", written by Bangabandhu, from the Center for Research and Institute (CRI).
'China Book House' was set up at the book fair by the initiative of the Bangladesh Confucius Institute and the Chinese Embassy. The stall is decorated with various books on Chinese history and culture written in English and Chinese.
