Consensus Commission to submit final report soon

The National Consensus Commission is set to submit its final report to the caretaker government shortly, Commission Vice-Chairman Professor Ali Riaz said on Sunday.

The announcement came during a meeting of the Commission at the State Guest House Jamuna, chaired by Commission Chairperson and Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus.

The hour-long meeting focused on the content of the July Charter, its implementation process, political parties’ positions, and the Commission’s stance on the issues. Professor Yunus expressed satisfaction with the progress of the Commission’s work.

Professor Ali Riaz added that the Commission has received extensive cooperation from all political parties, while the media has offered unprecedented support.

Professor Yunus thanked all Commission members and instructed that the final progress report be shared with him at the earliest.

Also present at the meeting were Commission members Justice Md. Emadul Haque, Dr. Iftikharuzzaman, Dr. Badiul Alam Majumdar, Dr. Md. Ayub Mia, and Chief Advisor’s Special Assistant Monir Haider. Advisors to the caretaker government, Muhammad Fauzul Kabir Khan, Asif Najrul, and Adilur Rahman Khan, also attended.
