After a long drama over the seat agreement, the tone of the 11-party alliance has become clear. Islami Andolan Bangladesh may announce to leave the alliance at any time, the party's top leaders have hinted.

Even after a day-long meeting on Wednesday (January 14), Islami Andolan could not give a final position on staying in the alliance. In the meantime, rumors of leaving the alliance have spread strongly on social media since Wednesday night.

On Thursday (January 15), Islami Andolan Secretary General Maulana Yunus Ahmad said, 'We are very close to the possibility of leaving the 11-party alliance - it can be assumed. Which path we will take will be clarified at afternoon today. The time for a press conference will be fixed, and the party's position will be announced there. Both our Ameer and Nayeb-e-Ameer are in Dhaka.

Asked whether Islami Andolan is moving towards forming a new alliance, he said, "No clear decision has been made yet. There are rumors and discussions. Various proposals are coming to us, but nothing is final."

A leader of the Islami Andolan in Dhaka Metropolitan North, who did not want to be named, said,
"In the end, the chances of staying in this alliance are very slim. Some senior leaders wanted to stay in the alliance for the sake of unity and the country. But now there is no room for compromise. A final decision may be made in today's meeting."

Meanwhile, an emergency meeting of the top leaders of the alliance was held at the central office of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami on Thursday afternoon, but no representative of the Islami Andolan participated.

The meeting was attended by Jamaat's Nayeb-e-Ameer Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Ameer Mamunul Haque, NCP convener Nahid Islam, BDP Chairman Anwarul Islam Chand, AB Party Chairman Mujibur Rahman Manju and Khelafat Majlis Secretary General Ahmad Abdur Quader.

Regarding not being in the meeting, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Maruf, the central publicity secretary of the Islami Andolan, said, "We do not have any representatives in today's meeting. However, discussions are ongoing regarding the agreement. The issue of not being in the alliance will be announced later."

Earlier on Wednesday, Islami Andolan spokesperson and senior joint secretary general Gazi Ataur Rahman said, "There is some crisis in the seat agreement, it cannot be denied. The Islami Andolan has never accepted a decision imposed by anyone."
