Continuous three-day holiday on Durga Puja
The government offices will remain closed for continuous three days from October 20 to 22 next on the occasion of the upcoming Durga Puja. Due to this rearrangement in the holiday schedule the government offices will remain open on October 17 next (Saturday) and it will be counted as a working day.
This decision was taken at the 23rd cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Secretariat on Monday (October 5). This information has been informed in a press release sent from the Press Wing of the Prime Minister.
It has been informed in the press release that the cabinet has given approval to a proposal of re-determining the general and executive order holidays declared on the occasion of Durga Puja. After remaining closed for three days from October 20 to 22 as the weekly holidays will be on October 23 and 24 respectively Friday and Saturday a continuous five-day holiday will be available in total on Durga Puja this time.
Meanwhile the cabinet has taken the decision of declaring a general holiday on the occasion of ‘National Revolution and Solidarity Day’ on November 7 every year at the meeting.
At the same time the decision of including November 7 as a ‘Ka’ class day in the circular of the Cabinet Division related to the observance of national and international days and observing the day accordingly has been taken.
