Controlling corruption and law-order essential for nation-building: Tarique Rahman

BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman has said that anyone intending to lead the country and its people must prioritise two key areas—corruption and law and order. He said this while joining an event in the capital virtually from London on Sunday.

Tarique Rahman said that an autocratic regime has driven people away from their own homeland, and this very autocracy has destroyed all structures, including law and order, education and agriculture. He stressed that the people are the source of political power, and BNP will respect whatever decision they make.

He further said that the country needs combined effort, working shoulder to shoulder, to rebuild itself. According to him, the nation is currently going through a challenging phase, and the only way to prevent conspiracies is through democracy.

Tarique Rahman believes that only the Bangladesh Nationalist Party is capable of implementing a national development plan through strict control over corruption and law and order. As BNP expects elections within the next two months, he said democracy must be established to resist various ongoing conspiracies.
