Convincing people was our election engineering: Tarique Rahman
BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has commented that going door-to-door during election campaigning and winning people's support was the party's 'election engineering'.
He made this remark in response to a question from journalist Khaled Mohiuddin at a post-election press conference arranged at the Hotel Intercontinental in the capital on Saturday afternoon, February 14.
The journalist had asked whether BNP employed any form of election 'engineering' to win 212 seats. In reply, Tarique Rahman said their strategy was repeatedly going to the people, talking to them and gaining their trust. He said, "Convincing the people was our election engineering."
At the beginning of the press conference, he read a written statement in English and later spoke in Bengali. He then answered various questions from local and international guests.
The BNP chairman congratulated all political parties that participated in the 13th National Parliamentary Election, including Jamaat-e-Islami, National Citizen Party (NCP), Islami Andolan Bangladesh and others.
