Court orders imprisonment for Inu, Dipu Moni, Palak among 7 others
A Dhaka court has ordered the imprisonment of Jasad President Hasanul Haque Inu, former Social Welfare Minister Dipu Moni, and former State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak among seven other individuals in connection with the Tejgaon police station murder case.
On Sunday morning (September 22), the judge of the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court issued this order after the individuals were brought to court following their remand.
The other accused include former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon, and journalist couple Sakil Ahmed and Farzana Rupa.
Earlier, DB police arrested Inu from a residence in Uttara on the afternoon of August 25 in connection with the case involving the killing of students during the quota movement.
The following day, the court approved a seven-day remand for him.
