Courtesy meeting of Malaysia’s High Commissioner with PM’s Defence Adviser
Malaysia’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh Mohammad Suhada Osman has paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister’s Defence Adviser Brigadier General (Retd) Dr A K M Shamsul Islam.
This meeting was held in a very cordial environment at the office of the Defence Adviser in the Armed Forces Division located in Dhaka Cantonment on Monday (August 31).
Detailed discussions were held at the meeting on the long-standing friendly relations between Bangladesh and Malaysia, defence cooperation and various important matters related to mutual interests. Especially both sides emphasised the increase of professional skills between the armed forces of the two countries, organisation of regular joint military training, exchange of specialised courses and training and overall increase of capability.
In the discussion talks were held on the possibility of modern military technology transfer, exchange of information and experience, military equipment and logistics assistance and joint partnership in the defence equipment production sector.
During the meeting Malaysia’s High Commissioner highly praised the unique self-sacrifice, high-quality discipline and professionalism of Bangladesh Armed Forces in the United Nations peacekeeping missions.
He mentioned that the contribution of Bangladesh’s peacekeepers in protecting global peace is a bright example in the international arena.
The Defence Adviser expressed optimism by highlighting the existing fraternal relations with Malaysia that this friendship will become more solid in the coming days through defence and strategic cooperation.
