CR Abrar new education adviser
CR Abrar, a retired Dhaka University professor and the executive director of Refugee and Migratory Movements Research Unit (RMMRU), is set to get appointed as the education adviser of the interim government.
Chief Advisor's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam made the announcement at a regular briefing on Tuesday (March 4).
He said, "The new adviser will take oath at Bangabhaban at 11 am tomorrow, Wednesday (March 5)."
Professor CR Abrar was born on August 17, 1952 in Faridpur. His father is Abdus Sattar Chowdhury and mother is Sophia Sultana. After passing secondary and higher secondary from Mirzapur Cadet College, he joined Dhaka University in 1972.
He completed his graduation and post-graduation from the Department of International Relations. He then obtained an MA in the same subject from the University of Sussex in the UK and a PhD from Griffith University in Australia.
He has been teaching at Dhaka University for four decades since 1979. This renowned professor of international relations is the founding coordinator of the Refugee and Migratory Movements Research Unit (RAMRU), an organization on refugee and migration issues.
