The International Crimes Tribunal has sentenced ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal to death in a case of crimes against humanity for genocide. A three-member panel of ICT-1, led by Justice Golam Mortuza Majumder pronounced the verdict on Monday, November 17. The general public cheered in front of the International Crimes Tribunal upon receiving the news of the verdict. At that time, they kept chanting slogans like 'The news came at this moment, Sheikh Hasina to be hanged', 'If there is a rope, take the rope, hang Sheikh Hasina'. The victims' family members expressed satisfaction with the immediate reaction to the verdict.

গণহত্যার দায়ে মানবতাবিরোধী অপরাধের মামলায় ক্ষমতাচ্যুত প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা ও সাবেক স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী আসাদুজ্জামান খান কামালকে মৃত্যুদণ্ড দিয়েছেন আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ ট্রাইব্যুনাল। সোমবার (১৭ নভেম্বর) দুপুরে বিচারপতি মো. গোলাম মর্তুজা মজুমদারের নেতৃত্বাধীন আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ ট্রাইব্যুনাল এ রায় ঘোষণা করেন। রায়ের খবর পেয়ে আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ ট্রাইব্যুনালের সামনে উল্লাস প্রকাশ করেন সাধারণ জনতা। এ সময় 'এ মুহূর্তে খবর এলো, শেখ হাসিনার ফাঁসি হলো', 'দড়ি লাগলে দড়ি নে, শেখ হাসিনার ফাঁসি দে'- স্লোগান দিতে থাকেন তারা। রায়ের তাৎক্ষণিক প্রতিক্রিয়ায় ভুক্তভোগী পরিবারের সদস্যরা সন্তোষ প্রকাশ করেন।
