DCAB mourns death of senior journalist Amir Khasru
Diplomatic Correspondents Association, Bangladesh (DCAB) has expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of its former member and senior journalist Amir Khasru.
In a condolence message issued on Saturday, DCAB President AKM Moinuddin and General Secretary Emrul Kayesh paid tribute to Khasru’s significant contributions to journalism, particularly in covering diplomatic, political and international affairs.
They recalled his long and dedicated career in the media and his association with DCAB, noting his contributions to the profession.
The DCAB leadership prayed for the eternal peace of his departed soul and conveyed its deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
Amir Khasru passed away on Saturday while undergoing treatment at Bangladesh Medical University in Dhaka. He was 64.
A former executive editor of Weekly Budhbar, Khasru also served as Bangladesh correspondent for Voice of America and worked as a diplomatic correspondent for the Daily Ittefaq.
He had been suffering from various kidney and liver complications. He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
