The government has withdrawn the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of five districts of the country. The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard on Sunday (March 1). The withdrawn officials are Mohammad Alam Hossain (Gazipur), Kazi Md. Sayemuzzaman (Panchagarh), Md. Iqbal Hossain (Kushtia), Md. Saifur Rahman (Netrokona) and Md. Shahadat Hossain Masud (Chapainawabganj). The reason for the withdrawal was not mentioned in the notification. Sources said that separate orders may be issued to them regarding their next responsibilities.

দেশের পাঁচ জেলার জেলা প্রশাসক (ডিসি) প্রত্যাহার করেছে সরকার। রোববার (১ মার্চ) জনপ্রশাসন মন্ত্রণালয় এ সংক্রান্ত প্রজ্ঞাপন জারি করে। প্রত্যাহার হওয়া কর্মকর্তারা হলেন— মোহাম্মদ আলম হোসেন (গাজীপুর), কাজী মো. সায়েমুজ্জামান (পঞ্চগড়), মো. ইকবাল হোসেন (কুষ্টিয়া), মো. সাইফুর রহমান (নেত্রকোনা) এবং মো. শাহাদাত হোসেন মাসুদ (চাঁপাইনবাবগঞ্জ)। প্রজ্ঞাপনে প্রত্যাহারের কারণ উল্লেখ করা হয়নি। সংশ্লিষ্ট সূত্র জানায়, তাদেরকে পরবর্তী দায়িত্বের বিষয়ে পৃথক আদেশ জারি করা হতে পারে।
