Dedicated department to be formed for July Warriors: Tarique Rahman

BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has announced plans to create a separate department under the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs to ensure the welfare and proper care of July Warriors and the families of martyrs, if his party form the government in the future.

He made the announcement at a discussion session at the Krishibid Institute in Dhaka on Sunday (January 18).

During the discussion, Tarique Rahman said the move aims to alleviate the hardships faced by veterans and their families. “We have taken this decision in the belief that, Insha’Allah, with the support of the people, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party will be able to form the government in the coming days,” he added.

He emphasised that the government would ensure both recognition and welfare for the July War veterans and the families of martyrs, helping to ease some of the difficulties they currently endure.

The meeting was attended by party leaders, activists, and representatives from various professional sectors. The discussions also covered the country’s political situation, BNP’s future plans, and upcoming party programmes.
