Deputy Attorney General Md. Emran Khan has resigned from his position citing personal reasons. In a resignation letter sent to the President, he stated that he had been serving in the role since his appointment on August 28, 2024, and has now decided to step down due to personal circumstances on Tuesday (July 21). Speaking to the media regarding his decision, Emran Khan explained that fulfilling his duties as Deputy Attorney General was impacting his private law practice. He noted that he wishes to devote more time to his personal legal practice, which led to his decision to resign from the post.

ডেপুটি অ্যাটর্নি জেনারেল মো. এমরান খান ব্যক্তিগত কারণ দেখিয়ে পদত্যাগ করেছেন। মঙ্গলবার (২১ জুলাই) রাষ্ট্রপতির কাছে পাঠানো পদত্যাগপত্রে তিনি জানান, ২০২৪ সালের ২৮ আগস্ট ডেপুটি অ্যাটর্নি জেনারেল হিসেবে নিয়োগ পাওয়ার পর থেকে দায়িত্ব পালন করে আসছিলেন এবং ব্যক্তিগত কারণে তিনি এ পদ থেকে সরে দাঁড়ানোর সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছেন। পদত্যাগের কারণ সম্পর্কে গণমাধ্যমকে এমরান খান জানান, ডেপুটি অ্যাটর্নি জেনারেলের দায়িত্ব পালনের কারণে তার ব্যক্তিগত আইনজীবী (ল' চেম্বার) হিসেবে কাজ ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হচ্ছিল। তাই তিনি এখন ব্যক্তিগত আইনচর্চায় আরও বেশি সময় দিতে চান। এই কারণেই তিনি পদত্যাগ করেছেন।
