DG of health services department summoned to HC

The High Court has summoned the Director General of Health Services Department. He has been ordered to appear in court in person on May 19.

A High Court bench comprising Justice Fahmida Quader and Justice Md. Asif Hasan issued the order on Thursday (April 30).

Lawyer Siddique Ullah Mia said that when the recruitment notice for class III and IV posts was published in various districts under the Ministry of Health, many people from all over the country applied. Although 25 of the writ petitioners finally passed the written examination, they were not appointed. In view of this, they filed a writ petition in the High Court in 2021.

After the final hearing, the High Court ordered the writ petitioners to be appointed. However, that order was not implemented either.

Later, when the writ petitioners applied again to implement the verdict, the court ordered the appointment to be implemented by April 23. Since the appointment was not made within the stipulated time, the court summoned the Director General in person.
