The directives include keeping hospitals clean at all times and making biometric attendance mandatory at all facilities by August 17.

The directives were issued in a letter signed by DGHS Hospital and Clinic Branch Director Dr Abu Hossain Md Mainul Ahsan on Saturday, July 4.

The letter stated that six directives must be implemented to ensure cleanliness, supervision and regular attendance of officials and employees at hospitals on the occasion of the government's 180-day completion.

The directives are:

Heads of all hospitals and healthcare facilities will ensure round-the-clock cleanliness on their own responsibility.

Higher authorities will regularly supervise the cleanliness of subordinate hospitals.

Directors of medical college and specialised hospitals will conduct cleanliness campaigns every Saturday.

Divisional directors will visit district sadar hospitals according to a fixed schedule and submit illustrated reports to the health ministry and DGHS.

Civil surgeons will visit upazila health complexes every Saturday and submit illustrated reports.

Biometric machines must be activated and regular biometric attendance ensured at all healthcare facilities by August 17, 2026. Failure to do so will make the head of the institution responsible.

The DGHS said the directives have been issued to improve the quality of hospital services, ensure cleanliness and regularise the attendance of officials and employees.
