Dhaka Education Board sets 10-day deadline for ad-hoc committee formation
The Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board has directed educational institutions that have not yet formed ad-hoc committees to do so immediately, in line with Ministry of Education directives. Institutions that fail to form committees within the stipulated timeframe will face action against the head of the institution.
An urgent letter was issued on Monday, August 17, directing heads of all educational institutions under the board to form ad-hoc committees within the next 10 working days.
The letter stated that institutions which have not yet formed ad-hoc committees must do so promptly following the relevant directives, in line with the Secondary and Higher Education Division's circular issued on March 16. The ad-hoc committees will be formed to complete the process of forming regular governing bodies or managing committees.
Heads of institutions have been warned to ensure that no institution under the board remains outside the directive. The letter described the matter as "highly urgent" and instructed necessary actions to be completed within the timeframe.
The board further stated that failure to complete the ad-hoc committee formation process within the 10 working days will make the head of the institution responsible, and disciplinary action may be taken against them in accordance with existing rules.
The initiative aims to ensure necessary oversight of administrative and academic activities until regular managing committees are formed. The Dhaka Education Board has instructed institutional heads to complete the process within the deadline.
