Dhaka records 35mm rain in 24 hours, more showers likely
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has recorded 35mm of rainfall in the capital and surrounding areas over the past 24 hours. Skies over various parts of the city remain cloudy due to the rain, and the department has said light showers are likely in Dhaka today as well.
Skies over Dhaka may remain partly cloudy until Tuesday afternoon, August 11, with light rain possible in some areas. According to the Met Office forecast, this situation may continue for the next six hours from 7am.
Winds from the south and southeast may blow at speeds of 8-12 km/h during this period. No significant change in daytime temperature is expected, according to the Met Office.
At 6am on Tuesday, the temperature in Dhaka was 26.3 degrees Celsius, with relative humidity at 98 percent. The maximum temperature recorded in Dhaka on Monday was 35.5 degrees Celsius, while today's minimum temperature was 24.8 degrees Celsius.
The Met Office said sunset on Tuesday will be at 6:36pm, while sunrise on Wednesday will be at 5:32am.
