Dhaka University temporarily suspends 3 teachers, including Sadeka Halim

Dhaka University has temporarily suspended three faculty members, including Professor Sadeqa Halim of the Department of Sociology, over separate allegations.

According to the university, Professor Halim has been suspended over allegations of "conduct unbecoming of a teacher" both inside and outside the classroom and "moral misconduct."

The two other suspended teachers are: Professor Md. Shafiqul Islam, Department of Nuclear Engineering Professor Afroza Shelly, Department of Nuclear Engineering In addition to these suspensions, the university's Syndicate has decided to relieve four other teachers of all academic and administrative responsibilities over separate allegations.

The university's Public Relations Office said the decisions were taken at a Syndicate meeting held on Tuesday and were announced through a press release issued on Thursday night.

The university has not yet publicly disclosed detailed information about the specific allegations against the other teachers or the duration of the temporary suspensions.

The measures are administrative actions pending further proceedings.
