Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor announces resignation

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan has resigned from his post.

He made the announcement at a press briefing held at the Abdul Matin Chowdhury Virtual Classroom adjacent to the vice-chancellor’s office on Tuesday afternoon (February 10).

Dr. Khan’s resignation comes a day ahead of the 13th national parliamentary election.

Explaining his decision, the vice-chancellor said he was stepping down to allow the incoming elected political government to restructure the administrative framework according to its own priorities.

No immediate announcement was made regarding his successor or interim arrangements.
