Dhanmondi 32 set ablaze again
Protest processions and arson incidents have taken place in various parts of the capital following the death of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi. As part of this, a tense situation has also arisen in Dhanmondi 32 area.
On Thursday (December 18) night, immediately after the news of Hadi's death spread, angry students gathered in Dhanmondi 32 area and started protesting. At one stage, they set fire to a building in the area.
At that time, the protesters started chanting various slogans including 'Naraye Takbir, Allahu Akbar' and 'Destroy, crush the shelter of 32'.
After the news of Hadi's death was released, thousands of students and people took to the streets in different areas of the capital. They marched around various roads in the city with processions. Later, several hundred protesters blocked the road in Dhanmondi 32 area and took position in front of the controversial house.
According to eyewitnesses, some protesters entered the building, set it on fire and started shouting slogans. Protests and agitations were ongoing in the area until the latest reports were received.
