Diploma engineers played important role in Bangladesh’s development: Chief Adviser

Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus said that diploma engineers have been playing an important role in Bangladesh’s development journey.

From infrastructure and industry to every sector, their service and technical expertise are making significant contributions in building the foundation of our modern economy.

He said that as a large professional organisation, IDEB is nurturing this skilled workforce, promoting technical education and encouraging innovation for sustainable growth.

In a message on Friday, November 7, marking Public Engineering Day and IDEB’s Foundation Anniversary, the Chief Adviser said this.

He said, on the occasion of Public Engineering Day 2025 and the 55th founding anniversary of the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh IDEB, I congratulate all members of the organisation.

IDEB observes Public Engineering Day every year on November 8.
The theme of this year is “Skilled manpower is the main foundation of nation-building”.

Mentioning that the theme is very timely, Dr Yunus said that the true strength of a nation lies not only in its natural resources, but also in the knowledge, skills and creativity of its people.

He said that through continued commitment, professionalism and the spirit of innovation, the members of IDEB will remain at the forefront of our nation-building efforts.
He said that he believes they will contribute to inclusive development and the implementation of our national aspirations.

The Chief Adviser wished overall success of all the programmes taken marking Public Engineering Day and IDEB’s Foundation Anniversary.
