Diplomats from 32 countries to attend Khaleda Zia’s janaza
Diplomats from 32 countries, including ambassadors, high commissioners, and heads of international organisations, have left the Baridhara diplomatic area to attend the janaza of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia at Manik Mia Avenue at 2:00pm today.
Among those attending are Acting US Ambassador Megan Boldin, British High Commissioner Sarah Cooke, Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen, EU Ambassador Michael Miller, Russian Chargé d'Affaires Ekaterina Semenova, Japanese Ambassador Saida Shinichi, Canadian High Commissioner Ajit Singh, Australian High Commissioner Susan Ryle, and Swiss Ambassador Reto Siegfried Renggli.
Representatives from the Netherlands, Libya, the Philippines, Singapore, Palestine, South Korea, Myanmar, Italy, Sweden, Spain, Indonesia, Norway, Brazil, Morocco, Iran, Algeria, Brunei, Thailand, Qatar, Denmark, and Malaysia will also be present.
Additionally, BIMSTEC Secretary-General Indra Mani Pandey, WFP Acting Country Representative Simone Lawson Parchment, and Vice-Chancellor of Islamic University, Kushtia, Rafiqul Islam, are attending the janaza.
