Discussions held on repatriating bodies of Bangladeshis killed in Saudi fire

Bangladesh has sought Saudi Arabia's cooperation in bringing back the bodies of Bangladeshi nationals killed in a recent fire in Riyadh. Discussions were held on identifying the deceased and the repatriation process.

During a meeting with Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman on Thursday, Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Abdullah bin Jafar Al Abiyah expressed deep condolences over the tragic loss of Bangladeshi lives in the Riyadh fire.

The meeting also covered various bilateral issues of mutual interest.

Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman expressed gratitude to Saudi authorities for their cooperation in identifying the deceased and expediting the process of repatriating the bodies.

He stressed that Saudi cooperation is crucial for the swift repatriation of the bodies and completion of other related procedures.

Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir was also present at the meeting.
