Distorted faces of four murdered, liquid found nearby: CID

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police has revealed new information in the murder of four members of the same family in Machuapara of Rangpur city. CID has said the faces of all four deceased were initially in a distorted condition and liquid substance was found near the faces. However, it is not yet confirmed whether that liquid is any chemical.


Acting Police Super of Rangpur CID Sumit Chowdhury informed these details to the media on Sunday afternoon.


He said the faces of the deceased were distorted in the initial condition. Some liquid was seen lying near the faces. This has created suspicion as to whether any chemical was used initially. The matter has been informed to the doctor for forensic examination. Confirmation on this issue will be possible after receiving the report.


The deceased are former teacher of Rangpur Zilla School Ganapati Chakrabarti, 60, his wife Pritilata Chakrabarti, 50, daughter Agami Chakrabarti, 26, and son Priyam Chakrabarti, 12. Police recovered their bodies from their own house in Machuapara around 3:30am late Saturday night.


Elder brother of Ganapati Chakrabarti, Gopinath Chakrabarti, filed a murder case at Rangpur Kotwali Police Station on Sunday over this incident. No name of any accused has been mentioned in the case. The number of accused has also not been mentioned in the case filed against unknown accused.
