The night of the four murders: What happened in the dark?
The Daspara village in Rangpur appears unusually silent even after four members of the same family were murdered. Four people were killed inside a house in the densely populated neighbourhood, yet residents of neighbouring houses say they knew nothing and heard no screams. The victims were Ganapati Chakraborty, his wife Pritilata Chakraborty, their daughter Agami Chakraborty Prarthi, and son Ayush Chakraborty Priyam.
Four murders in Rangpur: Father-brother of Siddhartha released on bond
The father and brother (Partha Das) of Siddhartha Das—who was arrested in connection with the murder of retired teacher Ganapati Chakraborty, his wife, and their two children in the Mashuapara (Daspara) area of Rangpur city—were taken into Detective Branch (DB) custody for questioning but were subsequently released upon signing a bond.
'Could not enter Ganapati's house due to stench of blood'
"I received the news late on Saturday night, August 22, and rushed to Ganapati sir's house the next morning. But the police did not let us inside at that time. I returned. Later, after 12pm, I went to the house again. The stench of blood at Ganapati sir's house was so strong that it was impossible to enter. We cannot understand why everything was cleaned up so quickly."
Distorted faces of four murdered, liquid found nearby: CID
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police has revealed new information in the murder of four members of the same family in Machuapara of Rangpur city. CID has said the faces of all four deceased were initially in a distorted condition and liquid substance was found near the faces. However, it is not yet confirmed whether that liquid is any chemical.
