Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali has warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone attempting to rig the upcoming Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) election.

He gave the warning on Monday (September 1) while addressing a coordination meeting on overall security and traffic management for the DUCSU election-2025 at the DMP headquarters.

“The police will extend full cooperation as per the Election Commission’s directives. No one will be spared if they try to influence or disrupt the election,” the DMP Commissioner said, stressing the need for coordinated efforts among all agencies to ensure a fair and peaceful election.

The meeting began with a security plan presentation by DMP Joint Commissioner (Operations) Mohammad Shahidullah, followed by discussions with representatives of the Election Commission, Dhaka University, intelligence agencies, specialized police units, fire service, and other government bodies.

Senior DMP officials, DU Proctor Saifuddin Ahmed, DUCSU Chief Returning Officer Professor Dr. Mohammad Jasim Uddin, associate returning officers, and student representatives were also present there.
